About
The Cosmic Cherry Arts Festival is an annual, all-inclusive festival celebrating femininity, queerness, and gender expression featuring the works of dozens of femme, trans and genderqueer artists. Cosmic Cherry blends the magical creative energy our artists bring with a powerful punch of moxie. This festival is meant to make our audiences and artists feel sexy, empowered, and full of cosmic creative energy.
Since 2018, we have featured works of nearly 100 femme and LGBTQ+ emerging artists.
We have premiered new pieces of theater, debuted original music, curated galleries of visual art from sculpture to photography to graphic design and so much more!
Past artists include: D’Lourdes, Sara Ornelas, Ṭaüs, Energizer Honeys, Fucked Up Play Fest, Granite Garden, Laura Galindo, The Rice Paddy, Martina San Diego, Jan Rosenberg, Uma Paranjpe, Tyler Thomas, Liz Morgan, Ren Dara Santiago and more.
Cosmic Cherry is co-produced each year by Elizabeth Jarrett, Irene Lazaridis and Ruthie Ofrasio.
Not only does Cosmic Cherry aim to support femme, trans and queer artists artistically, but we also take further action by supporting non-profit organizations that are doing the necessary work to support
the communities we represent.
Each year, all of our profits go to a non-profit organization that advocates
for women and LGBTQ+ communities.
Our proceeds have gone towards the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund,
Transgender Education Network of Texas and the Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project.
We are so proud to be able to provide a safe space for experimentation, joy, and empowerment, but most of all we are honored to pay this forward to the advocacy groups doing the real work.
Cosmic Cherry is an annual program produced by Make/Shift Arts LLC.
Make/Shift is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization.
